1k A Day Challenge: UPDATE

So the 1k a day challenge from Operation Awesome officially started on the 1st of October, and that means today is an update day.

Verdict: The weekend was writetastic. I got some major wordage down (7k), and welcomed the books 'Halo' by Alexandra Adornetto and 'Revolution' by Jennifer Donnelly into my bookshelf family.

So I'm happy.

But now for fun to kick start Monday.

It's October so it means it's time for QUERYPOLITAN. And this month there's signed Shiver books up for grabs.

Next there is an awesome excerpt from Alex. J. Cavanaugh's book CassaStar. And I'm super excited to have Alex's book trailer on the blog later this month!

And the query goddess herself, Elana Johnson is talking about why she wrote Possession. Unfortunately she doesn't mention me as one of the reasons. ;)

Finally, I missed this due to friend's birthday celebrations on Friday, but huge congrats to Lisa Roecker who gave birth to the gorgeous Benjamin. Check out the cutie here.

So, how was your weekend?

How awesome you wrote so much! I've gotten about 2k done since 10/01. I hope to make even more progress today.

Thanks for the updates. I like Elana's piece.

I'm managed 700 words this weekend. I had planned more, but one of my beta readers suprised me by reading the second half of my other wip in two days. So of course I had to edit that book. My other beta reader will get back to me today, so I might get some more work on my new wip done before that. I plan to start *qulp* querying next week, then I'll focus on my new wip instead of on the inbox (as if!).

Wow, I'm going to have some serious catch up to do. ;)

Thanks for mentioning my exceprt! I'm so pleased everyone likes it, too.
And I'm saving my writing energy for NaNoWriMo next month.

Oh wow, 7k! That's really amazing!

I have been lagging behind terribly with 1k a day (but mostly because the idea is still very new, and I don't have a clear picture yet).

And thank you for all the links!

The weekend was cranky and now in the past. That is all.

Congrats on getting so much writing done! My weekend was a very VERY busy Saturday and a freakishly lazy Sunday. I don't know how to balance the two!

Woot for word count! You rock that fictional dystopia, girl!! Can't wait to read it!

Oh and love the links, esp Elana's why-I-wrote-it story. POSSESSION is on my must read immediately list. I just wish we didn't have to wait until next June. *sigh*

The slow and tempting business of book publishing.

But 7K!!! Nothing slow about that!

I'm on a writing roll after experiencing a writing lull, so I'm doing pretty good.

Have a great week.
