I Spy My Bookcases.

Last week I was happily bantering with one of my awesome beta's, the fantastic Renae, about the TBR pile and how we need to see photographs. Imagine the look on my face on Friday when she posted just how big is that TBR pile?

Like Renae said on Friday, we have never said how many books are in the TBR pile. But since Renae came clean with her thirty four, it's now my turn.

I've mentioned I have a TBR bookcase. Oh, and said once or twice how I get the dad eye roll when a new book arrives in the mail (I have a love/love relationship with Amazon.com and The Book Depository, he has a 'where are you going to put those' relationship with it. hee hee). It also doesn't help that Katrina, one of my CP's, is my book enabler in crime. But hey, at least I don't have any habits that can land me in jail.

You can't get arrested for too many books can you?

Anyway, I present my bookcases.

As you can see these bookcases are kind of full. These are the shelves my friend, and mother of the goddaughter, refers to as her library. If you look close enough you can see the gorgeous UK white Twilight saga covers on the top of the smaller bookcase. (Which you can still enter to win at Operation Awesome.)

The white bookcase is a mix of read/reading and TBR books. It's depth means I can stack books two rows deep, so I fit more in.

"So how many are in the TBR section?" I counted them, I double checked and I have forty books waiting for my attention. Some of these were bought over the last few months. I would have read them by now, but in order to finish the wip by the end of this month I've put a pause on my reading. I can't tell you how much I'm itching to get reading these books now. It's a good thing I read quickly.

Okay, there you have it. So come on, how many books are on your TBR pile?

Like yourself I have so many books that I had to move them downstairs, they were bringing the skirting boards away from the upstairs walls in the study... but sadly they are all read. How I wish I had the time to read and read again, my reading now is always work related, and the rest of the time is spending time with my invalid husband when not writing and editing... never mind, I do take time to read through the great blogs first thing, and that is fun. Okay you have me beat! Although I did find a couple of books stashed (hidden) away in one of my closets so now I'm up to thirty six!

LOL! my TBR list is HUGE!!! I'm also a slow reader so I don't get through books as fast as I'd like. I think I have about 50 waiting for my little hands to open them!

Lets see I have two bookshelves of books I've read, I have I have four that are full that are unread. Also I have about thirty decorating a ledge, my writing books, and books I've recently purchased that haven't been added to the shelves plus about 300 books on my ereader. So there. What do I win? Retirement.

I don't know why, but these TBR posts are making me inexplicably giddy. The sight of so many books in one place! It's just breathtaking. Okay, I might have a serious problem.

But I'm not willing to seek help.

Okay, I am TOTALLY jealous of your TBR shelves!!! My TBR pile is mostly in my head LOL As in, oooo I need to read that book but I'll have to wait till payday to get it :D

My real TBR's are sort of spread throughout my bookshelves. And you know, I like seeing other people's shelves...I may have to post a few pics of my own :D

So happy to see that I'm not the only one with an extensive TBR list. Thanks for sharing your pictures! I love seeing other blogger's spaces. =)

Love those shelves! My TBR pile is piling up on the floor beside mine but there's 5 there I want to finish before the end of the year.

ooh, you're way more organized than me. My TBR books are spread across my 5 bookcases and my nightstand

Oh my goodness, I wish my TBR was only fourty books. I have my TBRs mixed in with all my read books. I own just over 500 books altogether, and I think it's safe to say that at least a couple hundred of them are TBR.

If I were at home, I could give you an exact number, but there's a rough idea!

My TBR pile doesn't seem so scary. The only problem is some of the books are sequels, and I want to reread the previous book first. So those ones tend to be push back a bit, and next thing I know, I've bought more stand alone novels. At this rate, the next book in the series will be out before I've read the other two. ;)

Your shelves are so neat!
I've maybe a dozen books I need to read.

I'm impressed with how great your shelves look! I've run out of shelving space, so my tbr pile is stacked on the floor. That's not very nice of me. Plus I just checked out four John Green books from the library!

We all share the same affliction!

I love your shelves! They are so nice and orderly :D

You've inspired me, I have to go count my TBR pile now... I'm kind of scared...

Love it! Mine's a lot smaller because I try not to get new ones when I still have unread books, but that doesn't mean my figurative TBR pile is any smaller. :)

I've given up on my bookshelves for now. My bedroom floor, the coffee table, kitchen table and counter, bathroom sink (I have two of them) and stairs in my home have all been blessed with my book 'droppings'. LOL

I haven't counted them, but I think it's quite likely that even if I never bought another book (and that is NOT going to happen), I might never get through all the books that are already in the TBR pile. The problem is, these great new books keep coming out and going right to the head of the line, shoving all the others to the back. I should really do something about that. :)

I love looking at people's book shelves. Yours are SO neat and tidy!

We have 13 or 14 major book cases in out house, plus some smaller 'overflow' shelves, and stacks/piles.
We have a big house and LOTS of books. I try to organize the shelves, but the system always breaks down as more books come in/get moved, etc. *sigh*

Thanks for sharing your bookcases with us. :)
