Half-Way Day

Yay it's Wednesday. It's also cold and getting dark early.

I don't know about you, but it makes me want to wrap up warm, watch the previous Harry Potter films (my The Deathly Hallows countdown for Friday) and eat cookies. I also want to attack my MS with the red pen of editing death and do some more plotting/writing on my wip, but that's a given. :)

But there's the slump of doubt that kicks in this time of year. Holidays are fast approaching along with the daily routine. It ends up feeling like there's so little to do and so much time... strike that, reverse it.

How to combat this? I would suggest copious amounts of cookies/chocolate or any other treat of choice. Also, pop over and see Elana.

Oh, I'm also posting over on Operation Awesome today.

So what do you do to combat the winter slump?

Slumps of any kind suck, but Elana nailed it--you have to believe you can do it.

And if that doesn't work, staring at pictures of Jensen Ackles usually get me through the worst :D

Loved your OA post!!!!

Oh, it's way too early in the season to be in a winter slump!! I get slumpy in late January, and stir crazy in February.

But, I do enjoy a lazy, cozy, blanket-wrapped movie day in my PJs as much as the next girl. :)

Hug,
Lola

I pretty much pamper myself with bad romantic comedies and pizza and ice cream. I'm amazed I'm not fat!

Don't hate me, but I don't hit the winter slump until late January! And then, I just read a lot to escape.

Combat the slump? Play with my kids. That seems to help. :)

Oh, man, cookies. That's what I need! For me, I put on my slippers and watch good movies. I can't wait for Christmas so we can watch TLOR again!

Hee hee! Your Willy Wonka quote made me smile. ;) I love that character as Gene Wilder played him. Other great quote from that movie:

"If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it. Want to change the world, there's nothing to it."

Our imaginations can do amazing things. Happy Half-way day!

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY Deathly Hallows! Midnight Tomorrow I'm so excited!

Ahhh I'm there right now. So many things to do. My sister flies in to Houston next week, then I have to pack above all else to move into our new apartment in mid december and then christmas is here. Thank goodness we saved the travel for next year or I'd be lost!

So excited for The Deathly Hallows!!! Wish I could stay home from work and watch the entire series again...it is cold!

As far as the winter slump goes I think you covered it with the comfort food.

Lots of hot chocolate and reading to help me get through. I also do actually get quite a bit of writing done since I don't want to go out much in the colder weather.

The holidays can wreck havoc on writing. But as far as winter goes, that's when I get a lot of writing done.

It takes my body a while to adjust. In a month, what seems cold now will be warm, and I will have new understanding of what it means to be dark at 5pm. I want to curl up all the time, but staying active - mentally and physically - is the best way I manage. Best of luck!
