Weekend of urgh...

First an apology.

Sorry that I haven't been around to visit your blogs this weekend.

I spent most of Saturday trying to look interested while my dad put a new alternator on my car.
I love my car. It's blue and called TARDIS (because it's bigger on the inside) but the occasional not starting has been a pain.

I can now turn the key without crossing my fingers and praying the battery has enough charge in it to start. Every time I went anywhere I had to be prepared to call my dad to get the jump leads ready for a rescue attempt. Really put my independent modern woman status on a downer. haha.

The rest of my weekend was taken up by tiredness.

I had two algebra exams to start and end my week. One thing you may need to know about me, I'm a huge worrier when it comes to exams. Hate them. So sleep has been an elusive bedfellow for me. Until Saturday night when it returned with a vengeance...

But now I am back. :)

I was tagged by the awesome Sandy Shin to do the penmanship meme on Friday. I shall have an epic battle with my scanner later to get this posted for tomorrow.
I also took all your comments on Friday's book thoughts into account and will be doing a book thought post this week.

I hope you'll like it.

So how was your weekend?

Grats on getting your car fully operational again.

If your printer requires fighting you it might find it simpler to shoot the page with a digital camera and upload the pic.

I remember the war with the car. We always had old, beater cars when I was growing up. We'd make plans to go somewhere, but it was with the knowledge the car might not start.

A dependable car is SUCH a blessing.

Glad you got the car fixed.

My weekend was lots of nothing, but not so bad for all that. :)

What a nice dad to fix your car for you :)

This weekend was somewhat productive but could have been a lot more. Where does all the time go?

I'm glad your exams are over. Whenever I have exams coming up, my days are very drab and tiring, too. :)

And I'm looking forward to seeing your handwriting!

Eh, exams - I'm sorry your week was so exhausting! And sleep is a killer, isn't it? Unfortunately, the times I think "man I really need sleep like NOW before my test' are the onlyt times I can't get to sleep. Anyway, at least the exams are over!
And it's nice that you love your car. I hated my car (at least my first one). When it died, I may or may not have broken into a chorus of hallelujahs while trying to steer its corpse into a parking lot. It's last act was trying to kill me - the steering wheel locked - but I won in the end! Woohoo!
And then got a perty car. :)

My weekend was short, as usual. But I know exactly how you feel about the battery/alternator issue. It's annoying and a pain to have to deal with stuff like that. You never realize how much you take your car for granted until you're stuck in a parking lot with a car that won't start and it's pouring outside.

But I'm not bitter or anything. LOL. :)

As for my contest, YES you can enter!! I will send out prizes internationally. So good luck!!

Trying to jump start a car always freaks me out. I'm afraid it's going to blow up or something. ;)

I loved algebra (read: I was a geek. Still am) But the exams made me so nervous! Good luck on yours!

Glad your car is working well now! Yay dad! :)

My weekend was busy (what else is new) - report cards are such fun to write... *sigh*

Congrats on the car! Those troubles are no fun :(

The weekend was too short! I returned to my MS this weekend after a few weeks of down time though - so that was exciting :).

Awww, that's sweet your dad fixed it for you. :)

My weekend was uber HOT and busy, but soon things will slow down (but still sweltering).

Glad your car is better, and that your exams are over.
They are very stressful. My daughter is in her first year of high school and has all her final exams this week and she is a mess.
(I never really stressed out that bad, but she sure does)

Love,
Lola

So glad your dad got your alternator replaced and you can feel confident when you turn your key again! And hooray that you're sleeping again - I know I'm pretty miserable when I'm not getting enough sleep. My weekend was pretty crazy, but lots of fun in the sun. :)

I have become a Dr. Who addict this year. We get BBC on our satellite and my husband, oldest son and I watch it every week. We even TiVo it when we think we might miss it! :-)

I've been a bit absent from blogging lately too. Summer is so hard for me. I'm trying, though. :-)

Glad your dad was able to come fix the car! I remember when I was 17, I had this old beater Mustang. (Not a cool one, mind you, a true beater). Anyway, it died on me one day, and I called my dad in tears, naturally. He asked me if I'd put oil in it. I paused, sniffled, and said, "Oil?" LOL. Turns out nobody tells a 17-year-old driving newbie that a car needs oil or the engine'll seize up. Oops! Hurray for dads!!

My weekend was busy, too. I haven't seen this penmanship meme yet. I'll return to check it out.

What a cute bear! When I try to draw things they come out looking like deformed lumps.

My weekend was good! Busy but good...
