WriteOnCon.

I'm sure a lot of you know about this by now but I still wanted to share.

Are you tired of never being able to go to a conference?
Do you write Kidlit? (Edit: Thanks Stina)
Do you want to get in on the action and talk to real life agents and everything?

You do. * Phew*

The awesomeness of Elana Johnson, Casey McCormick, Lisa & Laura Roecker, Shannon Messenger and Jamie Harrington have an announcement for you.

As an International bunny who never gets to conferences (and really, really wants to go) I've already marked the dates in my diary.

WriteOnCon.com August 10th-12th 2010

Edit: This piece of info has beeb posted on the WriteOnCon website.

What WriteOnCon isn’t:

"WriteOnCon is also not exclusive to kidlit writers. In order to stay organized, the curriculum has been focused on picture book, middle grade, and young adult writers. However, much of the information provided will apply to all writers, and since the conference is free, any interested writer is encouraged to attend. "

So anyone can take part. Feel free to pop over and check it out. :)

If only the publishing world wasn't so focused on YA ...

I made this mistake when I announced it on the Canada West Forum. The conference is for ALL kidlit writers, and not just YA. ;)

I can't wait. I'll see you there Lindsay--in our PJs. Ahahahahaha

Elana & Co. are out to conquer the world. They've got a pretty strong army lined up! I'm not currently writing a YA, but my next one probably will be, so I'm hoping to squeeze this in.

YEP!!! It's going to be great!

The best part is that they said a lot of the good stuff will be in the evening, and there will be transcripts of everything else, so those of us with stupid day jobs can still benefit!

Congrats on this wonderful WriteOnCon opportunity! I've been reading about it everywhere. I wish they would do one for women's fiction next. Thanks for the great post.
