Things I did This Weekend...Other Than Writing!

It was a pretty writing free weekend for me. So I decided my post would be on things 10 things I did this weekend. :)

Saturday

1. Go to a wedding and watch an eleven and eighteen-year-old have a "street dance off" on the dance floor. Think Zoolander meets Footloose/Step Up! If there's any way I can get this into a future wip I am adding it.

2. Stop bridesmaid Goddaughter from eating confetti, leaves, grass...then watch her get more excited by flashing disco lights and balloons than her bridesmaid present. Balloons v teddy bear = no contest.

3. Get a sandwich at 2am because, even thought I ate at the wedding, I was so starving I could have chewed off my arm. Then eat said sandwich doing more plotting on wip.

Sunday

4. Order Sunday dinner to have most of it stolen by the confetti eating twenty-month-old.

5. Watch said Goddaughter spin herself dizzy in the supermarket...whilst wearing an hand reigns attached to my wrist. I also got very dizzy.

6. Get asked by my dad if I noticed the new plants by the door? I said no...only to realise I walked past said plants four times the day before and didn't see them. Yes, my powers of observation suck!

7. Check email and get excited that my pre-ordered copy of MOCKINGJAY has been dispatched. *Note: I love you all, but if anyone spoils it for me I WILL CRY!

8. Five minutes later I realise my Paranormalcy and Clockwork Angel copies will be dispatched by the end of the week. *squee*

9. Watch two grown men -- brother and father -- trying to mend electric screwdrivers on the kitchen table in a bizarre "I can fix it quicker contest."

10. Go to bed and get another character screaming an idea for a plot. Get up, write it down, go back to sleep.

That was my weekend. How was yours?

Wow, busy weekend! :) Mine was spent packing, and that's pretty much it. *sigh*

You were busy! I met friends for dinner/drinks Saturday and yesterday we went to an amusement park with the kiddos. Super fun!

lol, all of that sounds awesome. I hate when characters scream at me at night and then I wake up and look at my note and wonder what in the hell I was thinking. It's 50/50 my chances of coming up with something good at night.

Looks like you had FUN! Can't write if we don't live, you know. I proofed my galleys this weekend - that is after taking time off to get over a particularly nasty cold. Have a great week

Yep, you had a much busier weekend than I did. I hear you on the observation thing. I love to people watch and spot the most intricate things but can walk right past something obvious many times before it registers.

Ya know, I have the same trouble with my power of observation. I blame it on everything running through my head!

Don't you love how our WIPs seep into the little free time we do have? :) I also had a writing-free weekend--and lots of writing thoughts!

Your weekend sounds like a fun one!!

Sounds very eventful! My characters need to stop screaming in my head late at night because I have to work this week and can't sleep late anymore.(sniff!)

Glad you had a fun weekend!

A weekend worthy of your awesome. I wish I could say I did all those things, too, but I just stayed home and read some books.

Writing? What's that? :)

Oh, and I'm with you on the MOCKINGJAY spoilers!

My weekend was great - I read a great book, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and wrote 3k on my WIP. Soo jealous you'll have Mockingjay in your hands soon! I didn't pre-order because I'm traveling, but I'm nowhere near a bookstore, WHAA! :)

Wow, busy weekend! I wrote, went to the zoo and finished the 4th Harry Potter book :D

Oooh, I love weddings! And confetti eating goddaughters! lol. I'm ordering Mockingjay today (even though my husband will kill me) i'm the opposite though. If I could read a complete spoiler to find out if she ends up with Peeta or Gale, I would.

You had a full plate. I know many writers catch up on their writing over the weekend, but it's always good to have non-writing weekends once in a while.

Good idea! We have to enjoy our breaks from writing, don't we?
